Pietro Spica
"My art is not concerned with the faithful reproduction of objects, and yet all my forms come from somewhere;
the viewer participates in deciding about their origin.
The whole point of my work is to provide a way out of conventional thinking.
The people who share my paintings stand up for their right to be free in their thinking, and every day that they view my work,
they are reminded of freedom and individuality of both expression and interpretation.
I believe that art is meant to provide this important function in the social sphere.
In art, there are two ways of facing the uncertainty and fear of the world:
one can create an excessive, hyperrealist structure that fools us into believing we have control,
or one can take an adventure ride with joy and abandon, leaving fear aside and celebrating life."
